Hello, neighbors! I am pleased to again be able to serve our community as President, and resume these messages to give you a quick recap of what your Board has been working on.
— For now, the Lot Recovery Program is tabled while we consider the best legal method to handle these properties.
— We have asked our attorneys for a list of all their cases in order to review them and get a better idea of which ones might be resolved, and which need to continue through the court system.
— We will be freshening up the red paint in the cul-de-sacs, but not across driveways. Because past Board members went to Urban Planning to initiate the request for red paint zones, we now run the risk of fines if we do not maintain these areas.
— We are in the final steps of closing the sale of Mission San Diego 1023, recovering $45,000 in dues owed.
— A faulty hot water heater was replaced for the showers at the Mission San Diego pool.
Classes in the Clubhouse
— Spanish classes have concluded for the summer.
— Deep Stretch Yoga and Chair Yoga classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Please contact the office if you are interested in joining any of these classes, or starting one of your own.
The community enjoyed a festive and fun July 4 celebration on a beautiful afternoon at the Whale Watch Pavilion. The golf cart parade included friends from different neighborhoods, and we enjoyed a perfect summer meal of hamburgers, fries and ice cream. Miguel Reyes provided the music for dancing.
The July Board meeting is on Friday, July 19, at 3:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse. If you would like to share something with the Board, please arrive early to request one of the Open Forum spaces.
Our quarterly Homeowners Meeting follows on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Clubhouse. We’re trying something new — Coffee and Donuts with the Board — and we hope you will join us!
See you around the neighborhood!
Lisa Rath
President, BHOA
